Tours to see Orangutans in Indonesia

Orangutans are animals that are protected by the Indonesian Government. The status of this endangered animal. In Indonesia, there are jungle animals on the Sumatra Island and Kalimantan Island. 1. Tanjung Harapan (Cape of Good Hope)
It is the first station in the rehabilitation of Orangutans. This location is located in secondary forest and swamp forests that are equipped with guest house, information center and the road trail.

2. Pondok Tanggui
Orangutans are still observed in a closed and avoid contact with humans.

3. Camp Leakey
Founded in 1971, located in primary forest and is home of several semi-wild orangutans to the wild and from the newly born to age three years (the old king).

How to reach the location

If you are from Jakarta, then you should use the aircraft for the purpose of Pangkalan Bun, West Kotawaringin regency, Central Kalimantan Province. If you use this route then the plane you use will make a transit in Semarang, Central Java Province. In addition to these routes, you also can use a flight route from Jakarta to Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan Province. Of Palangkaraya, you should proceed to Pangkalan Bun. Many rental car option of Palangkaraya to Pangkalan Bun and affordable prices. There are also buses that have routes Palangkaraya to Pangkalan Bun.

Aim to Pangkalan Bun you can also travel by boat. But we can only route from Semarang, Central Java Province.

If you've reached the Pangkalan Bun then you should continue your trip to Kumai about 20 minutes (8 km). You can use a rental car if you want to Kumai. From Kumai to the Cape of Good Hope you are doing with a boat "klotok" for 1.5 to 2 hours, or Kumai - Natai galangal for 4-5 hours.
